The problem
Every missed call is a customer deciding whether to wait
You are on a roof, under a sink, or with a patient. The phone rings and goes to voicemail. Plenty of callers never leave a message. They just call the next business on the list. A 2026 study by Invoca of 70 million calls found that 44% of calls to businesses are not answered by a person.
Calling back an hour later doesn't always work. The caller has moved on, or they won't pick up a number they don't know. Checking voicemail, writing down names, and playing phone tag also eats into time you could spend working.
What changes for you
- Callers get a reply even when you are on a job
- Fewer voicemails to listen to and write down
- A written record of what each caller wanted
- After hours calls turn into conversations you can pick up in the morning
- Less phone tag with people who don't answer unknown numbers
How it works
How missed call text back runs, step by step
A call goes unanswered
Your phone system marks the call as missed, whether you were busy, closed for the night, or on another line.
The missed call text back goes out
Within seconds, the caller gets a text from your business number. It says sorry you missed them and asks how you can help.
The caller replies by text
Many people would rather type what they need than call again. The automation can ask one more question, like their address or the best time to visit.
You get the details
You get an alert with the caller's name, number, and message. Reply from your phone when you have a free minute, or let them book a time on their own.

HVAC & home services
Plumbers and HVAC techs often can't answer while working, and a caller with no heat needs to hear back before they dial the next company.

FAQ
Questions about missed call text back
Does missed call text back work with my current phone number?
In many cases, yes. A lot of business phone systems can tell another app when a call is missed. If yours can't, there are other options, like sending unanswered calls to a number that can text. We check your setup before building anything.
Will the text sound like a robot wrote it?
We write it with you, in your words, and keep it short. A text like 'Sorry we missed your call, this is Dan at Oak Plumbing. What can we help with?' reads like a person because a person wrote it. Dan and Oak Plumbing are just an example.
What if the caller asks something the automation can't handle?
It doesn't try to fake an answer. It lets the caller know a real person will reply soon, then sends you their message right away. Words like 'leak' or 'no heat' can trigger a louder alert so urgent calls stand out.
Is it legal to text someone who just called me?
We set it up with CASL, Canada's anti spam law, in mind. The text is a direct reply to someone who called you, it names your business, and it explains how to stop messages. For clinics, we keep health details out of texts with PHIPA in Ontario in mind. None of this is legal advice.
How fast can it be running?
This is one of the quickest automations to set up, often within a few days once we can access your phone system. We start with a free 30 minute automation audit. Your first automation runs free for 30 days, and if you keep it, we agree on a fixed price in writing.
